Heat treatment effect and mechanical properties of alloy steel castings
Dec 05, 2018

Alloy steel castings need to be heat treated during the production process. There are currently nine heat treatment methods, each of which has different ways, and the effect is naturally different.

1. Annealing: A heat treatment process in which a steel casting is heated to a temperature of 20 to 30 ° C above Ac3 to maintain a temperature for a certain period of time.

2. Normalizing: heat treatment process in which the steel castings are heated to a temperature of 30 to 50 ° C above Ac3 temperature to make them completely austenitized and then cooled in still air.

3. Annealing and normalizing are common methods for the overall penetration heating of alloy steel castings, the purpose of which is to:

A: Adjust the hardness for cutting.

B: Eliminate residual stress and prevent deformation and cracking of steel parts.

C: Refine the grains and improve the structure to improve the mechanical properties of the steel.

D: Prepare for the final heat treatment work.

Regardless of the heat treatment method used for alloy steel castings, it is to improve the performance and quality of alloy steel castings, so as to manufacture products with better performance and indexes.www.pump-casting.com
